After the ceremony we spent some time in the park and then went out to eat and wrapped up celebrating on the 20th of May.

Jonathan made this remark when he saw this sweater, "It looks like a peacock blew up on it."
Actually it's a sweater I made in the late 90's and wore to Bruce's commissioning. I was approximately the same time along in pregnancy with Mick and asked Kerri if she would like to wear this sweater to Jonathan's commissioning. She said she would pass. But I had to have a picture.
What a lovely couple!

Kerri looks delightful holding a friend's baby at her baby shower that Aunt Margaret held for her on the 20th of April at her home in Colorado Springs.

Mick and I surprised Kerri and Jonathan and drove out to Colorado on Saturday. Kerri is looking happy and radiant!

Kerri is holding a quilt that I whipped up for her baby boy - due August 23rd! By then Kerri and Jonathan will be settled into base housing in Wichita Falls, Texas - so maybe the quilt will not even be needed until very late in December - if even then.

Kerri is giving Aunt Shellye a thumb's up for the great outfits that she sent to baby Noah.

Yep, they are for a boy - I wonder if Aunt Shellye and Aunt Margaret will now be Great Aunt's??????
Yes, I already think my kids think of them as 'Great' Aunts!

Another quilt completed the end of March and sent off to Shellye. She has just the spot for it!

Rich turned 20 on the 28th of March - "whoohooo" he totally enjoyed his birthday. Mick & I went to Sumo with Rich and his buddy Chad.

Next we enjoyed his ice cream cake from the local DQ at home. I had no idea how much they liked the DQ cakes, to think of all the cakes I didn't really have to make:)

And at about 10 pm I watched Rich put his bedding in his car. The big day to live on his own had arrived and he was only too ready to make it happen. Lastly, I offered Rich a gallon of milk as he headed out the door to his own pad. At 20 it was really happening...
Already a month has gone by and Rich enjoys being out on his own.

Grandpa's 90th Birthday Party

From Debi: Rich, Mick & I traveled to Wisconsin on Friday the 9th to attend Grandpa Richard's 90th Birthday party. A trip worth 11 hours of driving with two boys who tend to have heavy feet. Grandpa sure doesn't look 90! We could all tell how much he was enjoying the day and all the people who joined in to wish him "The Best".
Three handsome men!

Here is a shot of Margaret, Pete & Bronwyn. Even Bronwyn (2 1/2 yrs) did remarkable throughout the activities. We ate at a good old fashioned fish-fry on Friday night. Take my word for it "There is nothing like a fish-fry in Wisconsin!" Saturday we began picture-taking, visiting, and sharing stories until 4 pm. At 7 everyone gathered again at Club 10 for more visiting, eating and finished up the special day for Grandpa. God Bless you Grandpa and thank you for the memories.

I dersn't forget to post the pictures of these two. They really liked to pose and make faces for the camera. I have more than I can publish on the blog. With their fingers, I think they're telling what grades they're in...6th and third.

I had a chance to visit the orphanage again. They received us and our cookies with big smiles. Then we just played with them. The little fella in the yellow sweater is trying to get the camera; they really like to take pictures. The young lady on my lap is playing with the doll that Deb picked out. She played with the doll's hair and made me help her. The little girl in the box is the one we call the Energizer Bunny. She's got lots of laughs and big smiles.

Ceiling Vent

Here it is Bruce. Not too shabby. Looks like I need to touch up the wall a little but the hole in the ceiling is officially repaired. Deb

The following posts will cover some highlights since Christmas. I had a long journey and wonderful time with my best friend in Korea. Bruce & I enjoyed many new dishes, did some exploring, went bowling, saw the Osan Air Base and browsed through Songtan, just off base. The boys and I are settling back in to a routine and hoping the winter weather in the midwest is ready for a rest. Both boys are gearing up for track season and since 'For Sale By Owner' hasn't brought a buyer I'm gearing up to interview a couple of realtors in the hopes that the house will sell within the next few months. We enjoy sharing our highlights with you and hope your new year is filled with the fragrance of Christ. (2Cor.2:14) Please continue to lift up Bruce during his deployment. Debi

Homecoming 2007

A unique event took place yesterday. Mick was nominated for the homecoming court along with his friend MaryJo and they won! After introducing the first three couples Mick & MaryJo walked out and the announcer read this: "Mary Beth Omido is being escorted by Mick James McNaughton. Son of ... Mick has been involved in football for 4 years, track for 3, has participated in a few plays and is the reigning champion of Tarzan & Jane. Mick is the student body president this year and has held a position in STUCO for the past 4 years. He also helps to lead the FCS (Fellowship of Christian Students) and plays his guitar in the worship band at his church, Hope Community. He is in leadership in his church youth group. Mick also enjoys playing the guitar (a lot), working out, going to Bible studies, having deep intellectual conversations, eating a variety of food, hanging out with friends and laughing. Mick plans on attending Friends University next year on an athelic and academic scholarship. Above all else, Mick is very thankful for what he has and loves the relationship between him and God, through Jesus Christ. OK, that's when I teared up, a blessing to hear the name Jesus and God in a room full of student's and parents, in a public school. Praise the Lord!

Kerri's Visit...mom's peace of mind...to annoy Mick

In order that I would have peace of mind on my journey to Korea, Kerri came over to house-sit and spend time with her brothers. We had a good time prior to my leaving even if Kerri did have to make her own cake because I was at class. I took Kerri to Choices Medical Clinic before leaving and Liz took a picture of our newest grandchild (due in August) and I was able to show Bruce the babies first picture!

Quilts made to pass the time while Bruce is away.

In January I quilted a quilt on the longarm for a group called: 'Quilts for Valor' which collects completed quilts for military members who are injured in service. My favorite quilt store in Derby sponsored an event where many quilters finished a quilt to donate to the Susan G. Komen foundation for a quilt auction and this was my creation. And last I pieced the blue & white Galaxy Quest which is hanging at the store Sunflower Quilts so quilters can view it and purchase a kit. I have two more near completion but I'll wait to post those until they are in the mail to one of my dearest friends.
